Storytelling can dance for PRETEEN ( Spanish & English )
( Age 9 – 12 ) Explore the use of your body as a way to share stories. A dynamic way to connect with dance, gestures, body composition, facial expression and qualities of movement.
Designed to provide connection with how each body is telling something with our shape and every single movement.
It will include exploring images from different people, as a way to copy their expression, building up a small sample or library of images, that each participant will use to create a story.
This workshops provide a safe space for the participants to explore with their bodies on space, using composition in the space, composition within the body, gestures and facial expression, to be able to communicate things that cannot being said with words. At the end, we will practice how to select and put those images together, including different ways connect a story by the use of pulses, rhythms and melodies during the transitions between images.
Gentle and dynamic physical warmup. Exploration of facial expression, hand gestures, body part compositions and body in space composition. Use of images to copy human expressions and compositions. Exploration of connection between images, using sequencing of images and quality of transitions between images to tell a story.
